Crescent Park located between 108th Street and 107th Place between Hoyne and Oakley is a vast and natural looking park. There are big plans to remodel the park in 2009 and make it the crown jewel of Morgan Park once again. A group of local residents are working closely with the park district and the 19th ward to help create a design that will be safe, enjoyable and unique. They have found that parents like to bring their children around to different parks for a variety of experiences. The committee plans to make Crescent Park a special original place to play. In the meantime, it is a peaceful park with a large play lot with a few unique, older playground items such as the lincoln log house, old fashioned monkey bars and large swings that hold 3+ people at once. There is a baseball field and several tennis courts. The park has beautiful old trees that seem to invite climbing. The park is surrounded by some of the most lovely "American Craftsman" style homes and gardens in the area. I hope when they renovate they will do something unique that embodies the inherent, relaxed, "natural" character of the park and it's beautiful residential surroundings.

Whatever they come up with for the design, I really hope they put in some kind of bench swings. We'd miss them, as they're nice for the whole family.
Yeah, i agree. I love the swinging benches. and I would miss climbing on the wooden house and looking at what people wrote on them. But a new park would be very welcome.
