It's Sunday night and we are off to another ice cream adventure with the BFF's,(best friends forever) and we added another BFF just to mix it up! So 3 little girls are our critics and the vote is in Millie's at 5172 W. 95Th St. in Oak Lawn is a winner! They climbed up to the marble topped counter and twirled on the big, red, cushioned swivel stools! Oh the anticipation, as they ordered and enjoyed a plain vanilla cone, superman cone and root beer float! (They are truly unique, individual little girls!)I had a root beer float and my new BFF had a chocolate malt. Millie's is keeping it local by serving Homer's Ice Cream from Wilmette, Illinois. The floats, malts and sundaes are all served in the heavy old fashioned glasses. When you order the shake or the malt you get the mixing can for the extra! The atmosphere is lovely and takes you back in time with the piano and historic pictures on the wall. This is also a great place for lunch. They have deli sandwiches, soups & salads and use their own fresh baked bread. Delicious and Special! Go soon! Sunday night they closed at 9pm. Call for other hours 708-423-9293
