When I think of Kennedy Park at 113th and Western Avenue the memories are endless. From suffering in the hot sun at day camp as a small child waiting to play "red rover come over," to reliving the feeling of being completely submerged just before rising to break the water with a shiny water ballet leg while performing moves with my lifetime friends in the outdoor pool as a pre-teen on a warm star filled night, in front of the entire neighborhood in the yearly water show, to watching my brothers play football, baseball, softball etc. through out my youth..as you can see I could go on. This park is so large that every corner not only has a different use but a unique feeling. There are the sports fields, the horse shoe pits, the playground the walking/biking paths, the picnic areas, the tennis courts and of course the swimming pool and field house complete with "Rago" the superintendent that has been there since I was a child!. It is a lovely and vast park with something for everyone. Go to this wonderful park and visit often. You can start making your own wonderful memories.
